St George Bank Security Email Scam
Almost identical to the Westpac Security Scam is this email from
the same perpetrators, targeting customers of St George Bank
(actually they don't just send it to customers of the bank, they
send out to everyone on their email list in the hope of snaring a
live customer).
Just like the Westpac scam the email link takes you to a "lookalike"
site, where you will be asked to enter your userid and password
details for your bank account. This information is then stolen with
the risk that your bank account could then be raided as a result.
Editor's note: you'd think these crooks would at least run a
spell checker over their emails and do something about their
grammar!
